Katherine Jefferson
I have been a work colleague and friend of Kathe’s from approximately 2016. I was based in Australia and my role was to develop consistency in operations for motorway assets. During this time the North American region of the company was reviewing and developing its operational capabilities and I was asked to assist. Kathe, being previously employed by the Virginia Department of Transport, had just joined the company and her role was to manage the Road Operations Department. Although based in North America, Kathe did spend some time working in Australia.
Working with Kathe, both remotely from Australia and alongside her in North America and Australia was a great experience. It was obvious Kathe had a vast experience in real time road and traffic operations as well as developing requirements for new projects and opportunities. I witnessed firsthand Kathe’s management and development of the operations team within the company. This included the development and implementation of a formally recognized training scheme, operational plans and procedures as well as lifting the profile of her team both within the company and with external stakeholders. She was highly respected by her team and others she interacted with. I had the opportunity to accompany Kathe to several formal meetings and workshops with government and industry representatives. It was very clear that Kathe was well-respected and highly regarded by these stakeholders.
From my experience, I am confident that Kathe’s expertise will be of value to others.
